Privacy Policy
This is what Scrimble stores about you, why, for how long, and who else sees it. We don't sell your data, show ads or use tracking or analytics services.
What we store
- Your account: your username and a hashed password (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google, Google's id for your Google account too (not your email or name; your email only suggests your username the first time). Kept until you delete the account.
- Your game data: decks, gold, packs opened and what was in them, finishes and mats, levels and achievements, friends and blocks, ratings, and the matches you played with their replays. Kept until you delete the account; other players' matches you were in stay, under "Deleted player".
- Cards you design in Make a card: the card, its sketch if you add one, the reviewers' notes and who upvoted it. Kept until you withdraw it or delete the account; an approved card stays in the game with your name in the credits.
- Live rooms: a room's moves and chat are saved so a game survives a server restart, and kept 7 days.
- Bug reports you send: your text, a screenshot of the game, the game's state and your browser and screen size. Kept 90 days.
- Player reports: the reason, the room's last chat lines and who reported whom. Kept while open, then 180 days.
- Errors: if the game crashes in your browser, the error message, the game's build and the screen it was on, kept in memory only.
- How the game is used: a few moments (a visit, a game started and finished, joining and leaving a queue, opening a pack, signing up), tagged with a random number your browser keeps, not your name or address, and your account if you are logged in. We use them to see where new players get stuck. Kept 180 days.
- Your IP address is used to limit abuse (too many log-ins, too many rooms) and kept in memory only, never in the database.
Cookies and local storage
One cookie keeps you logged in (it holds a random session code, not your name). Your browser also keeps settings, a guest name and the random number above in its local storage. Nothing is shared with third parties.
Who else sees it
- Render hosts the game's server.
- Supabase hosts the database.
- Other players see your username, level, title, achievements you chose to show, your favourite deck if you picked one, and your game records.
- Moderators see reports and the chat lines in them.
Fonts and all game files are served by the game itself; no request goes to Google or other font or ad services.
Your rights
- Download your data: Profile, Your data, Download my data. You get everything stored about your account as a file.
- Delete your account: Profile, Your data, Delete my account. Your account and everything tied to it are deleted at once.
- For anything else, or to complain, use Report a bug in the game. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Scrimble is for players 13 and older. If you believe a younger child has an account, report it and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes and the game will say so.
